It is crucial that you sit down with your child and have an honest and serious discussion about what they did. This conversation has to calm, open, and focused on the actions of your kid. This is the time to try and understand the motivation behind their actions, and whether there are any underlying issues that need to be taken care of.
Depending on the situation, this discussion may happen with the school authorities or law enforcement in the room too. Regardless of who is present, it is important to listen to your child without judgements.
• Consider the best way to handle the situation
Cyberbullying is a complex situation and there is no one-size-fits-all solution to it. You need to find the best way to handle the situation and identify which people should be involved in the rehabilitation process. Maybe it’s you and your child, the parents of the victim and the victim themselves, the school authorities, a counselor, etc. In some cases, law enforcement may also be involved.

It is important for your child to learn that wrong actions have consequences and they can learn this by you laying down strict rules for them to follow.
